Painting from the Heart is an exhilarating and highly effective method of art therapy that is specifically designed to allay those old fears of making art. After many years of searching for a unique and creative method to facilitate self expression and emotional healing, Jane discovered a way to integrate the skills she collected on her journey as an art therapist and social worker; deep listening, guided imagery, relaxation techniques and holistic counseling.

She uses a warm-up technique to guide participants to relax the inner critical voice and follow the paint with a presence of mind that leads to deep emotional release, self discovery and renewed vitality. This process requires no prior experience and all materials are provided.

She offers group workshops, professional trainings throughout the country and individual sessions in her Hamden, CT office.

Jane is very excited to be working on creating a series of children’s books, prints and cards.
The gallery page of this website exhibits her work.

Jane has written a “Painting from the Heart” guidebook (for sale) and filmed a short documentary, with filmmaker Daniel Fine, which is available for your viewing on the video page.
